Cosplay Corner: Tenth Edition

What’s going on, guys?! Welcome to my tenth edition of Cosplay Corner, where we love all things cosplay! In honor of the TENTH edition, I wanted to show case some of my favorite pictures that I’ve came across. (Disclaimer: I understand that to most of you, publishing 10 articles doesn’t seem like much, well I am pretty much the most inconsistent person you’ll ever meet. In fact the only consistent trait about myself is my inconsistency, so you now see why I’m so excited.)

I also wanted to thank our fan base and readers; seriously guys, your support means everything to us. We notice each new follower, comment and view; from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You guys are the reason why we run this site.

Okay enough mushy stuff, lets check out some radical cosplay!!

Hello everyone, I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day, I know I did. (I ate a ridiculously large amount of chocolate covered fruit, mission accomplished!) This video is a League of Legends 4v5 fight featuring: Vi, Udyr, Katarina. Ezreal, Riven, Jayce, Poppy, Kayle and Draven. HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT VIDEO?! This reminded me of the League of Legends Cinematic’s that the release from time to time. (Which I watch all the time, at least 3 times a week, ha-ha.) All of the costumes and characters are spot on and the weapons that they made are superb! I was impressed by the line up, a very solid team to fight! (I know I wouldn’t want to fight either team, I’d be mince meat!) Make sure you check out all of their pages to view more of their amazing work, I know I definitely will!

Cosplay Corner: Eighth Edition

Hello, hello, and welcome to cosplay corner! This week I had the pleasure of meeting the adorable Acadia Rose; our featured cosplayer for the week. Acadia and I met through my job, and we actually live in the same city. She is a triple threat in the cosplay community: she models, shoots her own photography AND does her own editing. I’m in total awe of her skills, she is super talented; check out her FacebookInstagram and Etsy to see more of her work!

FirstLady: What got you interested in cosplay?

Acadia Rose: I have liked Japanese culture and anime since I was a little kid. I was always doing projects on Japan when I was little, and the first anime I watched was Inuyasha.

FirstLady: What is your favorite cosplay outfit?

Acadia Rose: Right now I have a ton of  school outfits (seifuku), and I wear them outside as my casual wear some days.

FirstLady: What advice would you give new cosplayers?

Acadia Rose: Make sure you know about the characters before dressing up. Be your favorite characters and have fun!

FirstLady: What is the hardest aspect about being a cosplayer?

Acadia Rose: For me, it’s that I don’t have a lot of time to make my own costumes, so I mostly purchase them on sale online, in thrift stores, and anywhere I can find cute pleated skirts and such things. I purchased two seifuku when I went to Japan a few months ago for only 500 yen, that is under $5! I’m always looking for deals, even with my regular clothing.

FirstLady: What are your hobbies/activities you enjoy to do in your spare time?

Acadia Rose: Besides watching a little anime and reading manga; I like to draw and make art, crafts, and I just started making my own comics, take and edit photos, roller blade, swim, play video games, I’m currently learning Japanese, I used to practice martial arts, I was the only girl in my high school wresting team for two years, and I organized a pet expo three times on my own. I’m kind of all over the place during my free time sometimes.

FirstLady: What do you do for a living?

Acadia Rose: I was a retail customer service representative. Right now I’m looking for an administrative assistant job, but I do some freelance photo editing and art on the side.

FirstLady: How old are you/what area do you live in?

Acadia Rose: I am 21 years old. Right now I live in Parma Heights Ohio, but I am originally from Worcester Massachusetts, and I moved around a lot as a kid. I’ve lived in California, Florida, Ohio, Massachusetts, and we took road trips around a lot when I was little. It wasn’t a very stable life, but it was kind of neat to get to start over and be the new mysterious person in school all the time.

FirstLady: Pick a quote that describes your personality.

Acadia Rose: I don’t know a lot of quotes, but a funny one for me would be something like, “You can’t be sad when you’re holding a strawberry cake, or a cute baby animal.” Ha-ha, I think sweet food and cute animals are my weaknesses.

Such cool cosplay; I’m glad I met Acadia so I could showcase some anime cosplay. I typically showcase video game cosplay, so this is a nice change. I love how delicate and feminine her cosplay is, so adorable! What are some of your favorite anime shows? I watched Inuyasha, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon growing up, but I haven’t kept up with it since. After seeing Acadia Rose’s work, I think I’m going to get back into it! Remember to check out her FacebookInstagram and Etsy to see more of her work!

Cosplay Corner: Seventh Edition

Hello, hello! Welcome to another edition of Cosplay Corner! This week, I connected with Alejandro Valentín Fernández Moret from Vrael Cosplay. What’s even cooler, is that Illisia (last week’s featured cosplayer) is a friend of his and they do quite a bit of work together! Alejandro, 24, lives in Spain and works with dental prosthesis; specifically 3D models. Make sure you check out his Facebook and Twitter to see more of his spectacular work!

FirstLady: What got you interested in cosplay?

Vrael:  I started cosplaying when my friend Illisia took me to a convention. I knew a lot of people and I really enjoyed being my favorite character for one day.

FirstLady: What is your favorite cosplay outfit?

Vrael: I think that Mako from Legend of Korra, because its comfortable and easy to transport.

FirstLady:What advice would you give new cosplayers?

Vrael:Never give up and try new materials that suit your objectives (LED, Wood for weapons…)

FirstLady: Pick a quote that describes your personality.

Vrael: Work until your idols become your rivals.

I love that quote, it fits cosplay very well. With cosplay, what you put into it is what you get out of it. This is definitely true with Alejandro’s work; it is fantastic!

Is everyone else looking at those weapons and armor? He makes ALL of those himself! Absolutely amazing, I mean the time it must have taken… the finished products are beautiful! There is so much attention to detail for each character, which results in incredible accuracy. Make sure you keep a look out for Alejandro’s future work; I know I can’t wait to see more! Make sure you check out his Facebook and Twitter to see more of his spectacular work and follow him for future pieces!

What characters do you guys want to see? I still am looking for some Deadpool cosplay, but have been incredibly impressed with the Suicide Squad cosplay I’ve been seeing. So many great pictures of the Joker and Harley Quin, my two favorite characters. I love hearing from you guys, so tell me what’s on your mind in the cosplay scene?

We always love your feedback, questions and comments! Playing a new video-game? Tell us about it! We are always looking for new games to play and review. Have a cosplayer that you really enjoy? Tell us, and we will contact them to feature on our page!

Cosplay Corner: Sixth Edition

Hello, hello and welcome to the sixth edition of Cosplay Corner! This week we have cosplay featuring the lovely Illisia, from Illisia Cosplay. She has some of the most detailed League of Legends cosplay I’ve ever seen; which is why this week is dedicated to specifically showcasing Illisia’s LoL work.  This Spanish cosplayer hails from the city of Zaragoza, and has quite the diverse portfolio, not just League of Legends. Remember to check out her Website, Facebook and Twitter to view more of her awesome work!

I just love League of Legends cosplay; each character is so detailed! I believe that the more detailed, the better the cosplay. Well, maybe not “better” but more definitely more authentic. Look at the makeup on the Gnar cosplay, she literally has an animated look to her. SO IMPRESSIVE! The weapons for Katarina and Leona? I can’t even imagine how long those took to make! A round of applause for the super talented Illisia Cosplay! Don’t forget to check out her Website, Facebook and Twitter to view more of her amazing work!

We always love your feedback, questions and comments! Playing a new video-game? Tell us about it! We are always looking for new games to play and review. Have a cosplayer that you are following? Tell us, and we will contact them to feature on our page!

(You MUST check out her website and Facebook; absolutely amazing stuff!) Rachel is an American model/cosplayer that has a very diverse portfolio, seriously: there’s something for everyone. I’m going to kick things off with my favorite supports from League of Legends, Janna!

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! (And she makes it all, even the shoes in some cases!) Bravo, very well done! Which was your favorite? I was originally going to say Janna, but it’s a really tough choice! I’m amazed by her diversity, she does new school video-game characters, old school comic book characters with a twist and everything in-between.

So, what looks are we hoping for in 2016?! I’d like to see a female Deadpool, personally. I can’t wait for the new movie!! We always love your feedback, questions and comments! Cosplay Corner: Fourth Edition

Welcome to another edition of “Cosplay Corner”, your visits and views are always appreciated. This week our featured cosplayer is the wonderful Ynotece. Ynotece is a 26 year old child daycare provider that lives in France, near Paris. She is a relatively new to cosplay, but we are excited to follow her very promising career. I had the pleasure of interviewing her, and she is such a delight.

FirstLady: What got you interested in cosplay?

Ynotece: I love to create things, I mean, I really need that, it fuels my life. Cosplay is the best way to mix all my passions together: video games (pop culture), painting, sewing, make up and sport! Every cosplay is a challenge: to get the best result, as close as possible of the model you have, by using all techniques or imagine new ones. When you have grown up with video games, you’ve dreamed about becoming as your childhood models, cosplay allows it. Another part of cosplay I love is the possibility to meet and collaborate with a lot of talented and nice people at cons or for some projects (shootings, etc). And the travel, I love that!

FirstLady: What is your favorite cosplay outfit?

Ynotece: I don’t have many cosplays, I’m still a “baby cosplayer” but my Snowstorm Sivir from League of Legends is my favorite one: it’s a mix between armor parts and some nice and original clothes. It’s comfortable, sexy and got nice lights on it! A mix between the warrior and the women I try to be.

FirstLady: What advice would you give new cosplayers?

Ynotece: Be curious, and DARE!!! I receive a lot of messages from news cosplayers asking me some help or just telling me that they’re afraid of starting cosplay. But they’re no competition, no rules and no limits to what they can create. All information you need are available on internet. So do what you love and how you love to do it, and the result be certainly excellent!

FirstLady: What is the hardest aspect about being a cosplayer?

Ynotece: For me, the only source of stress that I can have from cosplay is deadlines: finish a costume in time for a con, for a shoot or for contest! I don’t love being stressed by time, I love taking my time to be satisfied of what I’ve done, especially when your cosplay costed about 300$ (sometime more). I don’t want to waste my money and my time by rushing a project and being disappointed at the end of some details.

FirstLady: Pick a quote that describes your personality.

Ynotece: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Maybe describe the most perfectly my personality: I think the power of mind is the most powerful ability of humans. If you dream about something and you want it strongly, you’ll do everything to succeed. We’re all superheroes =)

She is such a sweetheart, so down to earth; and she’s a pretty damn good cosplayer too! Below, I’ve showcased a few of my favorites. Be sure to check out Ynotece’s TwitterFacebookInstagram and Twitch Stream!

Want to see more of Ynotece’s work? Check out her TwitterFacebookInstagram and Twitch Stream!

I’m loving all of the League of Legend cosplay; my favorite type of cosplay, after all. Ynotece did an amazing job, look at all the detail on her Sivir cosplay, and the armor on Katarina! And that Forecast Janna picture looks amazing! So much work went into these three creations, and the dedication definitely shows.

We always love your feedback, comments, questions, jokes; whatever communication you choose. Have a new game you are playing? Tell us about it, we are always looking to expand our knowledge of videogames and movies.

As Always, GL and HF
